2019 Ford F-150 Review

2019 Ford F-150 Review

The 2019 Ford F-150 is a full-size pickup with attitude. It’s a highly capable truck for numerous reasons, starting with the different powerplant options you’ll find when peeking under the hood. At Maguire Ford, our staff will explain everything this latest edition of the F-150 has to offer.

Explore the roads of Ithaca, Elmira, and Syracuse behind the wheel of this latest offering from the Ford family.

Ford F-150 Performance

2019 Ford F-150 ReviewWhen it comes to what’s under the hood, you’ll have plenty of options. The standard powerplant is a 3.3L V6 with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It produces 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. Drivers will enjoy an EPA-estimated 19 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway with this engine, competitive numbers for a truck in this class.

There are a range of EcoBoost® engines available, including the high-output 3.5L option. This was previously only available on the Raptor trim, but is now available on the Limited F-150 trim. It’s mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. As for those other fuel-conscious EcoBoost® engines, the 2.7L edition produces 325 horsepower, while the 3.5L one checks in at 375 horsepower.

With six different engines to choose from, there are numerous ways to customize your driving experience.

Towing Capability

For work or play, the F-150 is prepared when it comes to towing. Whether heading out for a weekend adventure or to work, this is a truck that’s ready for anything. Made of military-grade aluminum alloy, the F-150 is about 700 pounds lighter than the previous version of this truck, which makes it lighter and more agile.

It can tow anywhere from 5,000 pounds to 13,200 pounds, depending on the setup, and can haul up to 3,300 pounds. The F-150 comes with trailer sway control functionality, a feature of the AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™ system. The trailer tow connector also comes standard, alerting you to potential connectivity, lighting, or battery concerns.

Backing up a trailer means navigating two vehicles at once. The truck’s going one way, and the trailer’s going another way. Whether you’ve done it a few times or many times, the Pro Trailer Backup Assist™ makes it as easy. Just rotate the knob in the direction you want the trailer to go, and you’ll be on your way and ready to tow in no time.

The Ford F-150: A Smarter Truck

2019 Ford F-150 ReviewLet the 2019 Ford F-150 do the heavy lifting so you don’t have to. It’s built to do the hard work. The first evidence of that is with the available 8-inch LCD productivity screen. This provides valuable information in the dash area from fuel economy to towing data.

The available 360-degree camera uses four separate cameras to give you a full picture of what’s going on around the F-150. You’ll see the stitched together images on the center stack, which comes in handy when maneuvering in tight spaces.
