The Ford Edge offers five trim levels. However, if you’re looking to tow, the SEL, the Titanium, and the ST trim levels are excellent options. The SEL and the Titanium have an available Class II Trailer Tow Package, which comes standard on the ST. When properly equipped, these three trim levels will give you 3,500 pounds of towing capacity. 

How much towing capacity does 3,500 pounds get you? You can tow a small pop-up trailer, some dirt bikes, and a jet ski or two on the lower end of your towing needs. If you’re looking to tow something a little bit bigger, the 3,500-pound towing capacity when properly equipped will let you tow a lightweight boat, ATVs, and a small camping trailer. 

Safety and Driver-Assist Features

To keep you safe while you’re towing or just on your daily commute, the Ford Edge has a suite of driver-assist and safety features called Ford Co-Pilot360™. Some of the features included in this suite are:

• BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert—This system helps you keep an eye on your blind spots while you’re changing lines or backing out of your driveway or a parking spot. If the Edge senses a vehicle in your blind spot, it will alert you.
• Lane-Keeping System—To keep you centered in your lane, this system monitors the vehicle’s position in your lane. If the vehicle seems to drift, your Edge will warn you and center you back in your lane. 
• Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking—When this system senses that a collision might happen, it will warn you. If you don’t stop in time, it will also apply the brakes to avoid or lessen the impact of a crash.
• Auto High-Beam Headlamps—This feature automatically turns off your high beams if it senses an oncoming vehicle. Once the car has passed, your high beams will be turned back on again. 
• Rear View Camera—See obstacles behind you and even get a camera wiper to keep it clear of debris or weather elements.
